I'm happy with most of the meals I've ordered. You don't always know how something will taste until you try it. I like the new dessert feature. That makes a big difference with the options for ordering.

Missing chicken

My chicken, rice and cilantro dish was missing the chicken. I emailed but haven’t received a reply on how to rectify this.

Sometimes the veggies are not as good…

Sometimes the veggies are not as good looking as I would prefer, but they taste OK. The amount of potatoes they consider appropriate is often very small. But overall I think that the recipes are good and the meals are mostly more than satisfactory and good for the price.

Great value and variety

Great value and variety. Meals are easy to prepare. My last box was delivered a day early. Not a problem for me. There was one issue with a small jar of curry paste... The lid was crushed during shipping. I'm not sure what to sub for that ingredient. The website is easy to navigate and recipe selection is very easy.

The pictures guys..

The pictures guys... replace with dog food. That's what the meats look like and unfortunately everything tastes like. The tray cooking directions are not at all accurate. The selections are very limited. It may be "affordable", but the quality is under par with even a dollar store meal.

Horrible company and customer service

I have to say compared to other Dinnerly is the worst. No menu’s in the box, no separation from each meal and packed horribly. Twice I received wrong items to make the meals and customer service never got back to my email except to ask if it was resolved. Not it was never resolved. This is the worst service. Don’t waste your time or money.

We tried... they failed

After using Dinnerly for two months, we are fed up. Each week when we got our box delivered, here is what we experienced. 1) Improper packaging so often the boxes were not sealed. Ingredients were crushed due to poor packaging 2) Lost and missing items from the list of what should have been included 3) Substitutions from what we ordered to what was delivered with no notification or consent 4) Rotten produce. Each time we complained, within three to four weeks they would offer a $10 discount and continue with their terrible delivery and order fulfillment. This week, we ordered two dinners and a dessert. Both the dinners were delivered lacking key ingredients making the recipe useless, and the wrong desert. Now we know you get what you pay for, and with Dinnerly you get trash.

Dinnerly saves me money.

I have been using Dinnerly for a few months now and have really enjoyed it. As a busy person, meal planning gets hard. I love to cook, but never had just the right ingredients. So I would go to store, get big aspirations and then never cook what I wanted.
My box always arrives on time, though I sometimes struggle to get the drivers to leave it in right place.
The portion are small if you are used to meat-centered meals. I would say I personally eat a portion and a half for dinner, and then I will eat the half portion for lunch. So you may want to order an extra serving if you have two people.
The recipes are simple, though you will have to have some basics on hand: red wine vinegar and olive oil are staples for sure. But you never need a lot.
I love how easy the app is easy to use and how I can cancel a week if I need to. I am a very happy customer and have spread the word.

Acceptable (updated review)

Updated Review:
They reached out again, offered a larger refund, and applied it as a refund, not a discount. They stated that this is always an option, but must be requested. I kept the subscription through the promo period to see if the issues continued. I would say they have improved, but there are still problems with underweighed ingredients.
Overall, this has been an acceptable dinner kit service. The portion sizes are quite small, and there are kinks in delivery (weighing of ingredients); it's relatively inexpensive for this type of kit, and the meals are easy to cook.
Original Review:
We just received our first order. The package of peas that was sent was open and half empty, scattered in the box. The cauliflower is less than 2/3 of the weight that was promised on the recipe card; I do not see how this and 1 romaine heart could make a meal for two people. The brussels sprouts were more than an ounce short. The spinach and rice were about .5-1 ounce short. The only two weighted items that were portioned correctly were the meat products, which seem to have been measured by a separately contracted company.
In addition to the blatant issues listed above, I will note that the amounts that were planned to be included of all of the main ingredients are very small in comparison to what I would expect (not even taking into account we were shorted on most of them). The meat portion sizes in particular are too small for two people. Just a simple google search will tell you that an appropriate serving size of chicken or steak, when it is the main dish (as it is in these recipes) is DOUBLE what is provided. The calorie counts seem to be bulked up with unreasonably calorific cheap ingredients like broth concentrate, or butter/oils that you provide yourself.
**Their 'solution' was $6 of my next order. Seriously? I now have to go buy new ingredients, defeating the whole purpose of the kit, and they offer a negligible discount (that only applies if I order again).
I highly recommend another service. I've tried one other before that was significantly better than this (don't want to say which because I don't want this to be a plug for them).

What Dinner???

My pregnant sister ordered from Dinerly.com to make her life a bit easier. She was very excited to get her first box, however it never arrived!
When she called the company to ask about the box, they realized they delivered it to the wrong building. She asked for a replacement box and they told her it is not possible, since they pack their boxes in advance. She asked if they can please ask the delivery guy to go back to the wrong building to fetch the box and re-deliver it to her. Their answer was again negative! They told her the delivery guy already went home. All they could offer her was to wait for her box to arrive next time. This is horrible service!!! I would not recommend this to anyone, even though their prices are budget friendly they do not deliver their product and have no way to rectify their mistakes! Horrible!

Love your service

Love your service, the recipes are great! Appreciate the minimum amount of prep work. Many different items to choose from. Like that you are able to add-on different meats, desserts, etc. Very happy with the company. Will only use this company as a food delivery service from now on. Oh, and the price is fantastic! Nice job guys!!
